deviantART deletes artists work citing, vaguely, "Unaddressed Requirement"Seriously, deviantART, Inc. get a clue,
a raging clue. To think deviantART has been running for 7 years and STILL is not operating on par with its users expectations.
UPDATE: Just a few hours after posting this journal, a
core staff member from deviantART, Inc.
addresses the issue on the
artists journal.
UPDATE 2: And a day later, $
realitysquared posts a
news item outlining the new policy procedure for dealing with works that require permission.
My suggestions have been implemented, about time. This all hearkens back to ideas and suggestions that myself and others have expressed for a long time, that if implemented in a timely manner, would have saved a lot of unnecessary turmoil.
I'll update this with any other instances I find of deviantART, Inc. operating contrary to the expectations of its members. I mean, even in the first case cited, deviantART had nothing to gain by deleting this artists work, they just did it because they could. That, to me, is unacceptable. If you have your own deviantART horror stories, pass them along. In other news:
