Tower #1 of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol. It was such a beautiful day as I hope is evident through this photo. I decided to take this shot because I once had aspirations to be a Lifeguard. I'm making this available for print so I can always take myself back to the shore when it's not convenient to drive an hour to the beach. The pose from the female lifeguard in the center was unscripted.
Photo taken with my Canon PowerShot :: DIGITAL ELPH S110. Post production work includes: 1.) Added a custom border scheme to the photo. 2.) Titling/tagging the photo Update 08/28/04: Reduced filesize and dimension of preview image. Print image remains intact. deviantART Prints: I hope you are able to procure a print, it is best viewed at sizes 8x12 - 20x30 (inches). The purchase of my prints goes towards the development of my skill and hardware necessary to produce more works for the masses. Comments
So you wanna be a lifeguard eh, looks like a tough job, you sure you can handle it?
I can imagine the conversation in the tower: "Looks like a kid drowning over there." "I did the last one." "Should we call 911?" "Naw, wait a couple of minutes, maybe the waves will was him ashore."" I didn't see you at the beach party last night....." Nice shot BTW. -- as a lifeguard i like this picture. it really shows the extreme boredom that lifeguarding is.
i recommend not being a lifeguard. it seems like it'd be a lot of fun working on the beach, but it really isn't. you're not allowed to carry on much conversation, you can't stare at any one even if there was someone to stare at which there usually isn't, while you're on duty you can't do anything but scan the people in the water, you never feel like swimming, and the sun just isn't inviting when you're in it for nearly the entire day every day. as for al-b's comment, i'm offended that he thinks that way about lifeguards. also, baywatch is very unrealistic. cool shot.. nice angle, beautiful sand. i like that you'r behind them. that life guard with his arm on the girl is chubby
